The newest section of the Razorback Regional Greenway opened April 12 in Fayetteville and Johnson. About 200 people turned out on a sunny Saturday afternoon to celebrate the opening of the 3-mile Clear Creek Trail.
The trail event commemorated the completion of the Razorback Regional Greenway sections within Fayetteville and the opening of Johnson’s first trail. Activities included a ribbon cutting with elected officials, guided bike rides and a history walk.
The event also celebrated the opening of a half-mile extension of the Frisco Trail south to Walker Park. The new section includes a safe tunnel crossing under Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
The Clear Creek Trail connects Lake Fayetteville, the Northwest Arkansas Mall and the City of Johnson.
The trail was made possible through a partnership between the City of Fayetteville and the Johnson Clear Creek Trails Association and a grant from the Walton Family Foundation. Both trails were built by Boulder Construction.
