Northwest Arkansas’ trails will take center stage in Fall 2016 as mountain bikers from around the world converge here to ride, learn and explore at the International Mountain Bicycling Association’s World Summit.
The region was officially selected as a host with a visit by IMBA staff to preview local trails and potential venues. The event, which occurs every two years, draws hundreds of cyclists to its host community.
A contingent of Northwest Arkansas trail and tourism advocates visited the 2014 IMBA World Summit in Steamboat Springs, Colo. The six-day event was attended by more than 400 people representing 40 U.S. states and a dozen countries.
Kevin Adams, vice president of chapter and members services IMBA, spoke about the Northwest Arkansas selection on the Trails in the Ozarks podcast on August 18.
“In addition to the education and advocacy portions of the summit, it’s also a great way for mountain bikers from all over to get together as a community and share what we love about mountain biking,” Adams said.
